UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of exd amino acid residues 178-300, with mutations in the nuclear export signal (NES) (amino acid replacements I209A, F213A, I216A and M218A), exd nuclear localization signal 1 (NLS1) (residues 240, 241 and 242 have been mutated to Ala residues) and exd nuclear localization signal 2 (NLS2) (residues 291 and 292 have been mutated to Ala residues). The protein is tagged at the N-terminal end with Tag:MYC and GFP.
