Description

A heat-shock promoter governs expression of a kni mutant encoding amino acids 1-330 but lacking the eh1-like motif at residues 85-91 (abolished by converting the 4 hydrophobic amino acids to alanines) and also lacking the region between amino acids 169 and 189 (which deletes residues resembling an eh1-like motif). This protein can no longer bind to the gro protein.
