Description

Transgenic construct used to study a Polycomb Group response element (PRE) from the en locus. The 'PRE2' en fragment (extending from -576 to -395bp relative to the en transcription start site) has been inserted upstream of a reporter in which a bxd enhancer and Ubx promoter fragment regulate expression of lacZ. The PRE sequence has been inserted in the same orientation with respect to the Ubx promoter as their orientation with respect to the en promoter at the endogenous en locus.
