Description

A ~2.2kb XbaI-BalI fragment of the ftz upstream region (contains the neurogenic element), followed by the ftz basal promoter (~40bp upstream of the transcription start site) is fused upstream of the ftz 5'UTR, coding region, 3'UTR, and 200bp downstream of the polyA signal. The degenerate homeotic FNWS motif in the coding sequence has been mutated to AAAA, to abolish a potential interaction with exd.
