The fiz enhancer region from a cosmopolitan strain, spanning coordinates 14,909,008-14,910,193 of the X chromosome (release 6), with G-to-C, T-to-G and A-to-C mutations introduced 67, 1063 and 1174 nucleotides, respectively, before the start codon regulates expression of lacZ.
