A genomic enhancer fragment identified in a ChIP-seq experiment as a peak bound by oc (but not bcd) in embryos is fused upstream of the eve basal promoter and the lacZ coding region. Four additional hb protein binding sites and four additional zld protein binding sites have been inserted into the enhancer fragment.
