| Definition |
Morphologically classified as one of the siphoviridae, lambda is a temperate bacteriophage of E.coli, with a double-stranded DNA genome. It has an icosahedral head attached to a flexible helical tail. Both the tail protein pV and the head protein pD have been used for displaying (C or N terminally) foreign peptides on the viral capsid.[ PubMed:7682645 ] |
