Heterozygotes do not show a malformed leg phenotype. Heterozygotes have normal bristle morphology. Homozygotes show 13 +/- 2% embryonic lethality and 91 +/- 5% of homozygous larvae fail to form pupae. 9% of the dead homozygous embryos have a dorsal anterior hole in the cuticle. Homozygotes show larval moulting defects and excessive sclerotisation of the anterior-most cuticle.
19% of br1 ; SbEbr48/+ flies show a malformed leg phenotype. The predominant leg phenotype in br1/Y ; SbEbr48/+ flies is short, fat femurs and tibias. 7% of br5/+ ; SbEbr48/+ flies show a malformed leg phenotype. 15% of SbEbr48 Rho1J3.8 double heterozygotes show a malformed leg phenotype in at least one leg. 2% of SbEbr48 Rho1k02107b double heterozygotes show a malformed leg phenotype in at least one leg. 8% of SbEbr48 Rho1E3.10 double heterozygotes show a malformed leg phenotype in at least one leg. 2% of SbEbr48 RhoGEF204291 double heterozygotes show a malformed leg phenotype in at least one leg. 3% of SbEbr48 RhoGEF211-3 double heterozygotes show a malformed leg phenotype in at least one leg. 30% of SbEbr48 zipEbr double heterozygotes show a malformed leg phenotype in at least one leg. 0% of SbEbr48 zip1 double heterozygotes show a malformed leg phenotype in at least one leg. 2% of SbEbr48 zip33-1 double heterozygotes show a malformed leg phenotype in at least one leg.
Selected as: a mutation that enhances the br1 malformed leg phenotype.
