UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
trplGD12722 under the control of Scer\GAL4Gr63a.PF induces decreased avoidance to CO2, as compared to heterozygous and wild-type controls; in agreement, this expression throughout development and adulthood, or only during adulthood (using Gal80[ts] for temporal control of expression) results in decreased electrophysiological responses of the basiconica rich region of the 3rd antennal segment to CO2 exposure, as compared to controls.
Adults expressing trplGD12722 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
