Expression of trcS292A+T453A.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 results in a multiple wing hair phenotype. On average, 10-12 hairs per cell are produced by expression of this transgene and some cells produce 18 or more hairs. Expression of trcS292A+T453A.Scer\UAS in the notum, driven by either Scer\GAL4ap-md544 or Scer\GAL4neur-P72 results in split or branched bristles, particularly on the abdomen, and in deformed bristles that are short, fat, bent, and twisted.
