Expressing bnlHMS01046 under the control of Scer\GAL4Hml.Δ, Scer\GAL4lz-gal4 leads to wasp-infested larvae to develop fewer melanotic spots than controls. In the setting of Scer\GAL4Hml.Δ-driven expression, the larvae that can melanize wasp eggs display a reduction in melanotic mass size and a reduction in the number of Hml+ cells around the wasp eggs; unlike in controls, there are a few crystal cells around the wasp eggs. In the setting of Scer\GAL4Hml.Δ-driven expression there are also decreases in the numbers of total hemocytes, Hml+ plasmatocytes and lamellocytes after wasp-infestation, but not under control conditions.
