Expression of cbtNIG.4427R under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL (using a temperature sensitive Scer\GAL80 allele to limit expression to the larval stage) results in a modest delay in pupation on a low sugar diet. Hemolymph glucose levels are not significantly affected in the mutant larvae. Animals raised on a 20% yeast, 15% sucrose diet show a prominent developmental delay and impaired survival.
