Expression of glodsRNA.Scer\UAS.cUa does not lead to wing posture or jumping ability defects (with the Scer\GAL4Mhc.PU driver) and neither does it induce abnormal mitochondrial aggregations in dopaminergic (DA) neurons or loss of PPL1 cluster DA neurons in the adult brain (with the Scer\GAL4ple.PF driver).

The abnormal mitochondrial aggregations (observed in flight muscles or dopaminergic neurons), wing posture and jumping ability defects as well as the loss of dopaminergic neurons from the PPL1 cluster characteristic for Pink1B9 adult homozygotes are significantly improved by expression (controlled by either the Scer\GAL4Mhc.PU muscle driver or the Scer\GAL4ple.PF neuronal driver) of glodsRNA.Scer\UAS.cUa. Similarly, the abnormal mitochondrial morphology in the flight muscles of adult flies expressing Pink1dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Mhc.PU is partially suppressed by co-expression of glodsRNA.Scer\UAS.cUa.
