    Has a B os+ phenotype. The occurrence of exceptional male offspring from males carrying this chromosome has been studied. The frequency of exceptions varies depending on the genetic background of the flies. The exceptional event occurs almost exclusively in the germinal tissues of the male parent, and probably takes place at a relatively early stage in the development of germinal elements.
