X/0 males are lethal (relative viability of 0.04), X/Y males are viable (relative viability of 0.78). Levels of maternal nondisjunction are low. Males are fertile. Recovery of male lethals is reduced when in combination with Df(2R)M41A10 : the Y-suppressed lethality is a variegated position effect.
Homozygous females have blistered wings and duplicated anterior scutellar and postalar bristles. viability XY: .78 viability X0: .04 XY male fertile X0 male sterile Enhanced by Df(2R)M41A10 Not enhanced by Evar7 failure of sperm head elongation.
Selected as X chromosomes lethal or semilethal in X0 males, but viable in XY males.
T(1;4)l-v11 substantially reduces recovery of independently assorting autosomal free duplication: chromosome shows meiotic drive.
