Affected Genes Inferred by Location (0)
If no genes are listed here, it may be because the affected region is very large. The JBrowse insert above may show an error for the same reason, and other FlyBase tools such as CytoSearch may also fail for large regions. You can contact FlyBase for more help.
In these cases, there will be no "Export to Hitlist" button to the left.
    Phenotypic Data
    In combination with other aberrations
NOT in combination with other aberrations

Suppresses the expression of PgdA in larvae and adults, due to position effect variegation.

The activity of the PgdA gene within the translocation is approximately halved, due to position effect variegation. This activity is normalised by the introduction of Y chromosome material.

Heterozygotes are viable and exhibit a pn phenotype. Homozygotes are lethal.

    Male lethal.

    Other Comments

Order of markers is: cv-v-f-car-y (order on a normal chromosome is: y-cv-v-f-car), suggesting that the distal section of the X chromosome has been transferred to the centromeric region of the X chromosome and not to the fourth chromosome.
