    Adult midgut MARCM clones mutant carrying both Df(1)G0124 (which spans a region containing both Tis11 and Smr genes) and Dp(1;3)DC257 (to rescue the deletion of Smr) are significantly larger than control clones.

    Df(1)G0124/+;Dp(1;3)DC257/+ double heterozygotes display increased number of mitotic cells in adult midgut following a stress stimulus (either Erwinia carotovora carotovora infection or a 60 min heat-shock).
