Homozygotes die at the first larval instar.
Homozygous clones in the eye disc show an apparent loss of epithelial organisation and dramatic disorganisation of the actin cytoskeleton. The mutant clones recovered are generally small (1-2 cells). Homozygous clones in the egg chamber follicle epithelium show disruption of the actin cytoskeleton.
