A transposed fragment containing w sequence derived from the w67c23 allele is inserted within the third intron of pigs (at nucleotide position 97770 of accession AE003438). The fragment encompasses the first intron of w and extends downstream for approximately 14kb. The fragment contains FB and NOF element sequences.
