Comments

Imprecise excision of the P{EP} element in P{EP}GE28807 has resulted in a deletion that removes the coding regions of CG14671 and Pi4KIIα.

Affected Genes Inferred by Location (0)
If no genes are listed here, it may be because the affected region is very large. The JBrowse insert above may show an error for the same reason, and other FlyBase tools such as CytoSearch may also fail for large regions. You can contact FlyBase for more help.
In these cases, there will be no "Export to Hitlist" button to the left.

Df(3R)730 is homozygous lethal at the larval stage.

The glue granules in the salivary glands of homozygous Df(3R)730 mutant larvae (in which the lethality has been overcome using CG14671+tBa) are smaller than in wild type. When Df(3R)730 CG14671+tBa mutant clones are generated in single cells the mutant cells have small granules, indicating that the phenotype is cell-autonomous. The small glue granules are of grossly normal morphology. The cells also contain large vacuolated structures not observed in wild type. These vacuoles contain filamentous material that appears less dense than normal secretory granules. Despite these defects, glue secretion occurs normally.

Late endosomes in salivary cells are enlarged and appear as individual units rather than clusters. They are also visible throughout the cytoplasm, rather than being concentrated near the cell cortex. Lysosomes are also enlarged. Late endosomes appear normal in spermatogonia, salivary duct cells and imaginal cells.
