Male recombination between P{lacW}GclmL0580 and P{GT1}CG45049BG02691 in trans. The majority of intervening genomic DNA as well as the P-element DNA is likely deleted - genomic DNA flanking each P-element is intact up to the insertion site, beyond which it matches P-element sequences: the 5' end of an intact P{lacW} element remains on the proximal side of the deletion and the 5' end of an intact P{GT1} element remains on the distal side.
