      Degree of viability of dpcm2 when heterozygous with various dpolv-like alleles varies but is usually lower at low temperatures.

      (Carlson and Falk, 1962)

      Oblique wing phenotype (o). Thoracic vortex phenotype (v). Homozygotes nearly normal at 25oC with slightly oblique wings in some. Anterior edge of thorax usually shows a pair of comma-like depressions; wings may occasionally have blisters. dpcm2/dpov1 shows good commas in all flies, vortices in most, and slightly oblique wings. dpcm2/dpolv is semi-lethal at 22oC, and survivors are similar in phenotype to dpov1/dpolv.
