Embryos laid by heterozygous females are weakly ventralised, with only a slight expansion of the ventral denticle bands. At gastrulation, embryos laid by mutant females invaginate an apparently normal ventral furrow, but initiation of the lateral cephalic furrow is shifted to a more dorsal position and fewer dorsal folds are formed than normal. Embryos laid by eaD6/Df(3R)ea-5022rx1 females are virtually indistinguishable from embryos laid by eaD6/+ females.

Embryos moderately ventralized.

Heterozygous embryos have a weakly ventralized phenotype: denticle belts slightly wider than wild type and dorsolaterally derived filzkorper is present. Heterozygous females are sterile.
