      GpdhH determines a high rate and GpdhL determines a low rate of accumulation of the GPDH-3 isozyme in both larvae and adults. The variation in activity maps to a cis-acting, tissue-specific element (tentatively called Gdt-3) that is very close to the Gpdh structural gene. GpdhL has been found in association with GpdhA.
