      Hemizygotes often develop into pharate adults with an incomplete cuticle. These pharate adults contain melanotic pseudotumours.

      Hemizygous l(2)37Be3/Df(2L)TW130 animals do not survive to the third larval instar stage.

      (McCrady and Tolin, 1994)

      Mutants die as embryos or larvae, with a few reaching the pharate adult stage with an incomplete abdominal cuticle, and some even surviving as fertile adults.
