      Eyes vary from normal to absence of ommatidia. Shows some degree of dominance; many heterozygotes have some eye abnormality, usually a nick in the anterior region of one or both eyes, an abnormal growth of wing tissue may be associated with the nick. ldeyr; ey4 flies have very small heads, usually without ommatidia. Viability is greatly reduced. RK2.
