adult thorax & microchaeta
lfl1/lfl2, lfl2/Df(1)mal3, lfl2/Df(1)DCB1-35b and lfl2/Df(1)D43L1 females are not particularly small, but they lack thoracic hairs, head and thoracic bristles. The eyes are often roughened and the wings are abnormal, often with interrupted posterior crossveins. lfl2/Y males only rarely hatch (less than 1%). lfl2/Y males (both those which hatch and those which die just before eclosion) have a similar phenotype to lfl1/lfl2, lfl2/Df(1)mal3, lfl2/Df(1)DCB1-35b and lfl2/Df(1)D43L1 females. lfl2/In(1)FM6 females and lfl2/Dp(1;Y)y+mal106 males frequently lack the ocellar, postvertical and humeral bristles, posterior crossveins may be interrupted and wing vein L5 is usually interrupted. Some thoracic hairs are absent.
