    Description

    Amino acid replacement: I460T.

An insertion of 433 bp corresponding to a roo LTR, including a duplication of a 5-bp insert sequence, in the fifth exon of mah. This is linked to a nonsynonymous T>C substitution at 3R:24949334 (r6) causing an I460T change, if that position were transcribed and translated in the presence of the roo LTR element.

    Nucleotide substitution: T24949334C.

    Detailed Description
    Statement
    Reference

mah1 homozygous adults display eye color defects ('mahogany' eye color).

Eyes contain 77% normal red pigment and 102% normal brown pigment.

    Malpighian tubule colour: wild-type.

Eye colour: translucent brown in young flies, changing toward wild type and becoming dark brown with age.

    Comments

The eye color defect ('mahogany' eyes) characteristic for mah1 homozygous adults is rescued by expression of mahUAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.
