Heterozygous and Scr3/Df(3R)WIN3 males have a reduction in the number of sex comb bristles on the prothoracic leg compared to wild-type males.
Scr3/Df(3R)WIN3 and Scr3/Scr13A flies have a reduced number of rows of pseudotrachea on the proboscis compared to controls.
Scr3/Df(3R)WIN3 larvae have a reduced number of nuclei in the salivary gland compared to controls.
Prothoracic to mesothoracic, pronotal to mesonotal and labial to maxillary transformations. Polyphasic semi-lethality.
Semilethal. Surviving heterozygotes with Scr1 or Df(3R)Scr are characterised by a severe reduction in number and sometimes absence of sex comb teeth. The teeth present are often thin and weakly pigmented. An additional transformation is seen in heterozygotes with Df(3R)Scr, labial palps are transformed to maxillary palps with reduction in the number of pseudotracheal rows.
