Embryos may also be normal and hatch or die early with irregular cell cleavage patterns. Distribution of syncytial blastoderm nuclei normal in some embryos and irregular in others. Germ line-dependent but may also have a somatic component. Mutant expression autonomous in mutant pole cells transplanted into wild type recipients.
