      Semilethal in homozygotes. Dominant suppressor of position effect variegation at the w locus caused by In(1)wm4h. The viability of homozygotes is reduced after development on 0.1M butyrate, or by the presence of a Y chromosome.

      Homozygotes strongly semi-lethal in males; weakly so in females; homozygous females sterile; produce no eggs. Homozygous males have reduced fertility. Survival sensitive to the presence of the Y chromosome as well as to the presence of 0.1 M butyrate in the medium. homozygotes butyrate sensitive; homozygous semi-lethal homozygous sterile
