      Although wg12 was isolated by failure to complement wg1 (FBrf0046100), the phenotype associated with wg12/wg1 is weak and poorly penetrant, and wg12 fully complements amorphic wg alleles. These data make allelism to wg uncertain. Since the wg12 chromosome contains a deletion that uncovers arr (Df(2R)CX1; FBrf0084048), an alternative explanation of intergenic non-complementation between arr and wg1 is plausible.
