The pattern of apoptotic nuclei in third larval instar antennal discs is no different from wild type.

Aberrant axonal projections.

Severe disorder of second optic chiasm. Weak eye roughening. Absence anterior vertical and anterior dorso central bristles.

shows high penetrance for optic-lobe abnormalities, but variable expressivity; females homozygous for this inversion (see below) do not lay eggs and have rudimentary egg chambers (likely not due to lesion in region 3C, owing to fertility of synthetic deletion described under cytology).
