Transformation of the fifth, sixth and seventh adult abdominal segments to the fourth.
Heterozygotes have longitudinal furrow on the notum; also a dominant partial iab5-class phenotype. Abd-Biab6-G/+ males lack pigment on fifth tergite and have some bristles on the sixth sternite. Abd-Biab6-G/Df shows transformations of the fifth, sixth and seventh segments toward the fourth and a more extensive longitudinal furrow, extending into the abdomen and causing a fusion problem in the tergites.
