Mutants show male sterility, with highly elongated, immobile, blebbed sperm tails, disrupted individualisation complexes and scattered spermatid nuclei.
Spermatid nuclei are not clustered.

EcR06410 fully complements several EcR null alleles (including EcRM554fs, EcRV559fs and EcR31); transheterozygotes, as well as EcR06410 over a deficiency removing EcR are viable and fertile. This indicates that the individualization defects seen in flies carrying the EcR06410 chromosome are due to mutations in genes other than EcR.
