Mutants show male sterility, with highly elongated, immobile, blebbed sperm tails, disrupted individualisation complexes and scattered spermatid nuclei.

Discoverer

A. Spradling.

EcR⁰⁶⁴¹⁰ fully complements several EcR null alleles (including EcR^M554fs, EcR^V559fs and EcR³¹); transheterozygotes, as well as EcR⁰⁶⁴¹⁰ over a deficiency removing EcR are viable and fertile. This indicates that the individualization defects seen in flies carrying the EcR⁰⁶⁴¹⁰ chromosome are due to mutations in genes other than EcR.
