      Embryos derived from nulloLVII9/Df(1)6F1-2 females show a normal formation of somatic buds above each nucleus during early cellularisation. A subset of cleavage furrows fail to invaginate in these embryos. During late cellularisation the existing cleavage furrows form apical spot-junctions that coalesce to form zonula adherens as in wild type.
