Clones in the ovary result in ectopic polar cells and overproduction of border cells.

eya¹/eya^E11 flies have eyes 3/4 to less than normal size. More than 50% of eya^E11/eya^E(P)10 animals die as embryos.

eya^E11/eya¹ flies have eyes that are between 3/4 and less than normal size. eya^E11/eya³ flies have eyes that are between 1/2 and less than 3/4 normal size.

50% to less than 100% of eya^E11/Df(2L)eya¹⁰ embryos hatch. Less than 50% of eya^E11/eya^E3 animals survive to adulthood. Adults have eyes which are less than 1/2 normal size. eya^E11/eya⁴ flies have eyes which range from 1/2 to less than normal size.
