The electroretinogram response of flies carrying ninaCMD in a ninaC5 background is abnormal. There is a delay in termination and ensuing slow deactivation.

Flies carrying ninaCMD in a ninaC5 background have an abnormal electroretinogram (ERG) indistinguishable from that of ninaC5 flies. Rhabdomeres degenerate in flies reared on a 12 hour light/12 hour dark cycle.
