zucHM27/Df(2L)Prl females lay eggs with a range of dorsoventral patterning defects; 10.2% have a single dorsal appendage or the appendages are fused at the base, 86.4% have no dorsal appendage or are collapsed and only 3.2% are similar to wild type.

Most extreme eggs are spindle shaped without dorsal appendages. Other eggs have fused dorsal appendages or of normal morphology but remain unfertilized.
