Lethality occurs during larval and pupal stages. Brain and discs are smaller than wild type. Hyperplastic lymph glands grow as diffuse masses and fill the anterior body cavity by the end of larval life.

Comments

Two or three different shades of eye colour were observed, this phenotype is caused by the presence of a P{lacW} insert into another autosome at cytological location 23A-23B. P-element excision at cytological location 55D-55E demonstrates the 55D-55E insertion to be the cause of lethality.
