Description and Uses
Description

P{lacW} is an enhancer trap construct that contains at its 5' end the weak P\T promoter fused upstream of sequence encoding the lacZ reporter enzyme (the lacZ sequence is fused in-frame to the P\T coding sequence at approximately the same position as in P{A92}). The expressed lacZ reporter protein is nuclear, independent of insertion site, probably due the fusion to P\T coding sequence, since native P\T protein is nuclear.

A diagram of the P{lacW} element is available at the [GDP Transposons page](http://flypush.imgen.bcm.tmc.edu/pscreen/transposons.html)
