Mutant flies are hypersensitive to diethylether anesthesia but resistant to isoflurane anesthesia compared to wild type. Mutant flies show normal sensitivity to halothane anesthesia.
Homozygotes are sensitive to ether (lower concentrations are required for anaesthesia compared to wild-type flies).
Ether sensitive.
Hypersensitive to ether anesthesia.
Calreth-as311 is rescued by Calrhs.PG
The hypersensitivity to diethylether anesthesia and resistance to isoflurane anesthesia which is seen in Crceth-as311 flies is rescued by expression of Crchs.PG under the control of heat shock.
Excision of the P-element results in a response to ether that is almost the same as wild type.
Excision of the inserted P-element reverts the mutant phenotypes of hypersensitivity to diethylether anesthesia and resistance to isoflurane anesthesia.
