XbaI-SalI genomic fragment, nucleotides 2486 to 5401, containing the promoter and coding region for amino acids 1 to 10 and 178 to 384 (ie the six contiguous fingers) is cloned into P{SDL1} which results in an in-frame fusion of sequences to lacZ.
