Transheterozygotes are female sterile and semi-lethal, exhibit rough eyes, bristle and wing defects (both enhanced at 18^oC), brain defects, meiosis is mostly normal with some nondisjunction. Heterozygotes with Df(3R)Hd^γ1 are viable but female sterile.
