Detailed Description

P{ftzK}; ftz13 embryos fail to express ftz in the CNS and have a normal or only mildly defective epidermal development (FBrf0049007).

P{ftzK}; ftz11/ftz13 individuals die as embryos or larvae. P{ftzK}; ftz11/ftz13 embryos are identified by weak segmentation defects in the CNS.

Comments

Expression of ftzK in a ftz13 background rescues the segmentation defects but does not rescue CNS function, as illustrated by the RP2 neurons, which fail to develop.
