dar1 null multipolar neurons gradually become bipolar during development. At 24h after egg laying, all Class IV dendritic arborizing dar1 null neurons are multipolar, although dendritic growth defects are visible; at 96h after egg laying, many become bipolar, although the overall dendritic pattern is maintained.
