Description

8kb fragment of FMRFa from -5000bp to amino acid 23 of exon 2 (containing 5kb upstream sequence, exon I, the entire intron and 69bp of exon II) fused in frame drives the expression of Ecol\lacZC4.Adh.

In 18-20 hour embryos, EcollacZFmrf.WF3 is expressed in ~98% of Tv neurons, and ~96% of first instar larval Tv neurons.

In third instar larval CNS, expressed in approximately 60 cells, which fall into 15 distinct cell types. For many of these expression observed in both larva and adult, notably in the Tv and Tva neurons in the thoracic neuromeres; the SE2 interneurons in the subesophageal neuromeres; the OL2 neurons in the optic lobes of the brain. Ectopic expression, not observed for normal FMRFa, is observed in a few cell types, for example, in the X cell neurons.
