Heterozygotes do not show a loss of wing margin phenotype.

sens^M256/Df(3L)S122804 embryos show an extensive loss of cells in the peripheral nervous system; most neurons are absent, the few that remain are mostly of the md type, there is extensive loss of glia and support cells and massive loss of cells of external sensory organs. Many apoptotic cells are seen in the PNS of stage 16 embryos, in contrast to wild-type controls.
