Legs are shortened with 1-3 tarsal segments (instead of 5) which are often fused. In males the sex combs are absent or poorly expressed. Wing blade is shortened, in some mutants L2, L5 veins and the posterior cross vein are interrupted. Wings are slightly raised and moved apart. The fourth antennal segment is missing. Body size is reduced. Lifetime of imago is sharply shortened. Outer components of the genitalia are normal, inner components are aberrant. Eyes are rough and reduced in size due to irregular faceting.
