Description

sev promoter and 3 tandem copies of the sev enhancer drive expression of a truncated form of Delta that ends just downstream of the transmembrane domain (amino acids 1-630 are present). The coding sequence is tagged at the C-terminal end with Tag:VSV-G. The encoded protein acts a dominant-negative.

      Two copies of P{sev-DlTM} cause very irregular ommatidial arrays with multiple bristles and occasionally the 'blueberry' phenotype, which is associated with loss of cone cells.
